    Date: Jan 6, 2013 | Passage: Luke 13:1-5
Series: Heaven: The Throne Room of the Universe

Why did God send us Revelation 6-20? Why would God devote the majority of His final words to humanity, portraying such gloom and doom? Why do we need to read God describing disasters, plagues, solar storms, wars, murders, famines, demon armies, and hard-hearted human rebellion?

  • How to Live a Life of Pleasing God In a Doomed & Dying World
    Date: Jan 20, 2013 | Passage: 2 Peter 3:1-10
Series: The Return of the King: Revelation 6-19

Think of the sheer terror those who saw the ark starting to float away felt as the waters rose and all hope of escape was gone. The same terror awaits all who neglect the message of salvation and careen headlong into a hopeless, Christless eternity each day. The ark will forever symbolize much of God’s plan of salvation. The Hebrew word for pitch, for example, has the same root (kaphar) as that used for atonement. Just as the pitch kept the waters of judgment from entering the ark, so applying Christ’s atoning blood removes judgment from the sinner. The ark is a beautiful picture of the salvation offered in Jesus Christ.

  • How to Survive the End of the World
    Date: Jan 13, 2013 | Passage: Revelation 6
Series: The Return of the King: Revelation 6-19

Almighty God who sees everything, knows everything, and is infinitely wise, has a plan. That plan involves ending the sin, death, evil, and rebellion in this world. That plan has been written down and is ours today. As we start our study of this next section it reminds us that ONLY God knows the future. No person, no demon, no astrologer, no prophet, no writer, no one but God KNOWS the future. That is one of the most amazing facets of God’s character. He never is surprised. God always knows what WILL happen; and only He knows that. We need to listen to God.
